We built this replacement lamp to keep up with the pace of SACMI rotary blowers. It’s a 300mm, 400V, 2500W shortwave infrared lamp, designed for one thing: hitting temperature fast. The whole point is simple. Cut the waiting time at startup. Keep the heat stable through every cycle. So your line keeps moving, instead of sitting around while the heat catches up.
The Nitty-Gritty
Here’s how it pulls that off. Packing 2500W into a 300mm lamp creates serious heat density in a small space. That’s what makes the warm-up time so short. After a machine restart, or even after a quick pause, the lamp gets back to target temperature almost instantly. We went with 400V for a reason. It keeps the current lower than other designs, which eases the strain on the wiring inside the blower. Just keep in mind, your setup needs to handle 400V, and you’ve got to manage the heat properly to keep everything running smooth.
What It’s Made Of
Inside, you’ve got a quartz envelope, filled with halogen gas, and a filament structure we tuned for quick, reliable starts. The shortwave heat goes right where you need it, hitting the preform surface directly. The R7s connector locks in solid, with two contacts that stay tight even through constant heating and cooling. No wiggle, no arcing. And it’s built as a direct swap for the Techne blower assembly, so you can drop it in and get back to work.
Why It Matters on the Floor
On a SACMI rotary blower, timing is everything. This lamp’s fast start cuts down on idle time—especially after a startup or when you clear a jam. That means you can keep your cycle times consistent. The shortwave profile also gives you tighter control over temperature at the neck and body, which helps keep bottle quality steady. One thing to keep in mind: with this much power, the lamp needs clean airflow and proper cooling. But when you spec it right and treat the environment right, you get predictable heat-up, stable performance, and fewer stops caused by temperature swings.
