Here is the problem when you swap out lamps in a Sidel Matrix: you risk messing up your temperature profile. If the new lamp doesn’t hit the exact same wattage and spectral output as the original, your preforms end up uneven. It’s a headache you don’t need. Why the “1:1 Match” Actually Matters
We do more than just make sure the lamp is the right length. We obsess over the voltage and wattage so the heat density—every single centimeter—is the same as the OEM part. If the voltage is off even a little, the filament runs too hot or too cold. Suddenly, your heating zones are all over the place. We calibrate the resistance so that the moment you wire it into your power supply, the ramp-up time and the steady temperature feel exactly like the factory setup. It just works.
It’s All in the Glass
The glass isn’t just a container; it’s part of the engine. We use high-purity quartz. Why? Because impurities in the glass soak up heat instead of pushing it out. That’s a fast track to a burnt-out lamp. We also use a specific halogen cycle to keep that filament stable for thousands of hours of run time. We focus on short-wave IR. This lets the heat punch through the PET wall quickly without scorching the surface. You get a deep, consistent soak through the whole preform.
Plugging Them In (and a Few Warnings)
These are true drop-in replacements. They fit your existing footprints and connectors without you having to tweak a thing. But look, a word of caution. High-wattage tubes create intense heat. Even with a perfect lamp, if you let dust or residue build up on the quartz, you’ll get hotspots. Keep them clean. And remember, if your cooling blowers are on their last legs, no amount of lamp precision is going to save your preforms from overheating. Keep an eye on your airflow.
